I am a faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry, College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University Medical Center, and in the Columbia University Institute for Psychoanalytic Training and Research.  I am an Associate Director of Externship at Columbia University Medical Center; Clinical Supervisor for City University of New York in their doctoral psychology program; Past faculty member in several other graduate psychology programs; and was Director of Doctoral Studies and Predoctoral-Intern Director at the California Institute for Psychotherapy.

I have an active interest in thinking and writing about the intersection of psychoanalysis and the arts and the impact of culture on psychology.


My Approach:

My treatment emphasis is to find out who you uniquely are, and to help you become aware of unconscious factors which may block you in moving forward with your goals. I have experience working with a wide range of symptoms and diagnostic issues. My work is psychoanalytically informed but pragmatic.
