I am originally from New Jersey but moved to sunny Southern California to earn my Masters in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. Since my freshman year of college, I’ve had a calling to work with those who are struggling with eating disorders. My passion for helping people is fueled by a deep empathy for people, especially women, who hurt their bodies as they work through their self-doubt, traumas and self-esteem issues.

This passion and calling lead me to earn my marriage and family therapy (#48782) license in the state of California, where I concentrated on eating disorders in my studies. I immediately began employment at an eating disorder treatment center in Long Beach where I spent five years as a Recovery Coach, Primary Therapist and Program Director. I have since taken that experience into my private practice, where I feel called to assist clients into learning how to LIVE OUT the concepts of recovery learned in treatment.

I am a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapist (DBT) and have done extensive training in the Intutive Eating dietetic approach. I also hold a position on the Board of the Orange County chapter of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP). I am continuously researching, consulting, and learning more about eating disorders so I can remain fresh, informed and confident in my healing approach.

My Approach:

I believe that therapy is a place for you to come when you feel the way you are living your life is no longer working for you. In terms of healing from an Eating Disorder, I believe this means to take a brave step off of the scale that you use to measure your body and worth. Therapy is your place to reflect on the beliefs and behaviors that keep you from being the best version of yourself. This is your time to surrender the fears, the pain and begin to heal.

Eating disorders are multi-faceted illnesses that require a variety of interventions and modalities to appropriately treat. My approach takes in proven modalities and turns them into concrete therapies, goals and interventions in order for the client to feel hopeful, empowered and a part of the journey.

Treatment Modalities I Incorporate:
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
  • Intuitive Eating
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
  • Family Systems Therapy
  • Values development
  • Referrals to Registered Dietitians, Medical Doctors, Psychiatrists and alternative therapies
