About:

I work with creative and sensitive people who are full of passion, potential, and excitement.

Often people feel overwhelmed while trying to manifest or reach their goals.  I help you take the first or next steps with confidence.  If you are having a hard time realizing your creative endeavors and managing modern life, I can help you.

I specialize in helping people improve Executive Functioning Skills.  Executive Functioning Skills are those skills that help you succeed.  They include:  focus, management of emotions, organization, time management, working memory, starting tasks, completing tasks, impulse control, etc.

I am here to help you connect, nourish, and integrate your creative endeavors with real life skills.  Together, you and I can build skills and strategies to create the systems necessary to bring your projects to fruition.  I am here to help you flourish.

I provide help to people who are challenged by creative blocks, executive functioning skills, and ADHD.  My early career was in special education, and I have been coaching people with different learning styles for over 30 years.

I work from a deeply felt and researched model, one that guides my understanding that all learning takes place within the context of important relationships. I am very good at evaluating my clients and working cooperatively with them towards maximizing their strengths and achieving their goals.

My professional background as a Special Education Teacher, Vice Principal, Corporate Trainer and Executive Assistant to Professional Academic and Creative Writers, along with my extensive study and teaching of creative/journal writing serves my clients in ways that meet their particular learning and personality styles and individual needs.

In addition to my regular coaching clients, I feel it is important to give back to the community. I do this by working with at-risk kids in the Santa Monica area.  I am the former Director of Smart Partners tutoring program for The Virginia Avenue Project, a free, after-school program that used the performing arts in conjunction with one-on-one mentoring to help underserved children realize their full potential. I played a critical role in meeting the emotional, learning, social, and socio-economic needs of these children.

Methodology

My Approach:

When my clients understand that I am not judging them, they are able to relax and feel safe enough to expose what many in their world have labeled as negative behaviors. I help them understand that what they have been doing has been their own creative way of trying to meet their essential needs.

In the process of developing understanding about your reactions to what you have experienced, ADHD Coaching opens up many new possibilities for responding to the challenges you face. Eventually, we discover your goals and dreams and help you reach them, one step at a time.

Without the burden of negative self-assessment, we work together to:
  • Identify barriers to success
  • Identify ADHD symptoms and evaluate sources of frustration
  • Explore research and resources that can help us understand your specific situation
  • Collaborate toward the development of creative and personalized approaches to meeting your goals
Modality:
  • Individuals
  • Parents
  • Family
