Core Values
I am a Christian. I repent of my sin, understand that I am a sinner by nature and by choice, and turn to Jesus in faith that He is the son of God and was an adequate substitute to atone for my sin. I seek to counsel others from the truth revealed in scripture, for the purpose of bringing glory to God. Even when I am in a situation where I cannot be explicit, I expect myself to offer advice and wisdom that is consistent with the Christian faith. This includes pursuing excellence in how I work, interact with colleagues, and conduct business.
Specialties
My counseling specialties include treatment for Mood Disorders, such as depression, anxiety, Bipolar, etc. My assessment specialties include testing for Autistic Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, and intellectual disabilities.
The counseling process involves assessment, intervention, and termination.
Assessment involves both the client and the counselor working together to try and clearly understand the problem at hand.
Intervention is a collaborative process of pressing toward established long-term and short-term goals.
Termination is perhaps the most important stage of counseling. This involves the transition toward ending the formal counseling process. It is so important because it consolidates gains and prepares people for the next stage of life where they can put into practice what they have learned from counseling. My hope during this stage of counseling is to help each person become actively involved in a healthy community, with a sense of purpose that goes beyond their particular circumstances.
